ISPON commends Abuja Continental Hotels for exemplary safety standards

The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), Abuja Branch, led by its Chairperson, Mrs. Okpara, paid a courtesy visit to Abuja Continental Hotels this week, reinforcing the institute's commitment to strengthening safety compliance in Nigeria's hospitality sector.

During the visit, ISPON conducted a thorough safety audit of the hotel's premises, operations, and emergency response structures. Following the inspection, the team expressed deep satisfaction with the high level of safety protocols observed throughout the hotel. ISPON described the efforts of Abuja Continental Hotels as a commendable example of what the hospitality industry should strive toward.

Mrs. Okpara, in her remarks, noted, "What we witnessed here today is nothing short of outstanding. The management has clearly made safety a culture, not just a checklist. Abuja Continental is a shining example of proactive safety consciousness in Nigeria's hospitality landscape."

Responding to the commendation, Mr. Kelvin Brett, the General Manager of Abuja Continental Hotels, appreciated the efforts of ISPON Abuja Chapter for the visit and the valuable insights shared. He assured the delegation that all recommendations made during the audit would be taken seriously and implemented promptly. He further pledged that his management team would enroll in ISPON's safety training and certification programs to deepen their knowledge and commitment to maintaining world-class safety standards.

As safety increasingly becomes a non-negotiable expectation in the global hospitality sector, ISPON emphasized the importance of institutionalizing safety culture across all service industries. The institute also announced that it will, in the coming weeks, extend similar courtesy visits and safety audits to other hospitality and corporate establishments across the Federal Capital Territory to ensure widespread compliance with national and international safety benchmarks.

The courtesy visit concluded with a collaborative discussion between ISPON and the hotel's management, setting the stage for an ongoing partnership in championing health and safety excellence.
